Talking about games

This week my colleague Dave Breen and I drove down to Manchester for the UK’s Pharmacy Education Conference. Dave and Gary Lynas presented a poster on a game they’ve designed called Pharmopoly. (Abstract 60 in the abstract book). I had a talk on another game we use during a lecture called ‘The Pharmacist’s Dilemma’. (Abstract 13 in the abstract book) . I decided to experiment with videoing this talk as a tester for videoing my lectures.

It took a bit of ‘editing time’, but the main issues were aligning the sound (which comes from a dictaphone) with the video (which comes form a Go Hero Pro knock off – £15 at Argos!), the massive video file sizes (about 150 Mb per minute) and dealing with the gaps caused by video file saving. Anyway, the video is done and next time will be a lot slicker.
